More about Sam & Louie’s
This week we’ve got PIZZA! Not just any pizza, Sam & Louie’s New York Pizzeria Pizza. This is not on crispy artisan crust, or deep dish Chicago style. Sam & Louie’s pizza is on delicious thin foldable crust. You’re gonna need to fold it to eat the humongous slice. Whatever slice you get, it will be made AFTER you order it. That means fresh pizza and no heating lamps.
I sampled this beautiful slice pictured above. So cheesy and meaty! The veggies don’t get in the way of the good stuff they add to it. Like I mentioned earlier, its best to fold this beast in half to capture the goodness.
Pat, the owner, also told me they have the coldest beer in Des Moines. He said they keep their mugs chilled at 20 degrees below zero. I’m sure it will hit the spot this summer.
Go to www.TownPoints.com to get a $20 Sam & Louie’s gift certificate for $10 and check this place out. There is a limited quantity so check it out before their gone.

Jason Played football for the Iowa Barnstormers arena football team from 2009-2010. While Playing football he harnessed the weed killing skills while working for a lawn care company in between games and practice. Since then he has hung up his football cleats and brought his brother Derek on board to start their locally owned lawn service company.
People often ask us how we can offer such great deals on TownPoins.com. We must put in an honest days work in order to pay for these offers. Today we made Ben work for owners Ralph and Christine D’Amico at the Over the Top ice cream shop in Pleasant Hill.
The day started off pretty well while he made strawberry ice cream. They don’t use strawberry flavor, they use real strawberries. When you take a bite of real fruit you’ll know why. Ben thought everything was going great when he got a taste straight from the ice cream machine, but then he had to serve it.
Let’s just say it looks easier than it is to perfectly load a waffle cone full of homemade ice cream. A few broken cones later and Ben got pulled from behind the counter. Not to waste her free labor for the day, Christine put him to work cleaning up after a private party of 30 four-year-olds in the party room.
Today in the TownPoints office:
We devoured a quart of ice cream. To be more specific, it was cake batter Ice Cream from Over the Top. Maybe they should change their name to Through the Bottom, because it didn’t take us long to eat through the bottom of the carton. Every ounce of ice cream they serve in their shop in Pleasant Hill is made in-house. That’s not hard to believe after tasting it.
Our Thoughts:
Matt - I just killed two birds with one stone! Cake and ice cream at the same time!
Ben - I can’t stop thinking happy thoughts.
Steve - Just try to eat this and not smile.
This week on TownPoins
Over the Top Fabulicious Ice Cream and Chocolates
(All of the Ice Cream above will be sold in less than a week)
Ralph and Christine D’Amico, along with their son Patrick, have been making some of the best ice cream you can find in the Des Moines area for over a year now. Christine grew up making homemade ice cream with her grand parents. She used to experiment with an eclectic array of ice cream flavors and has brought that same creativeness to Over The Top. All of their ice cream is made by their ice cream experts on site. They could have very well stopped at ice cream and done well, but they wouldn’t be Over The Top if they did. Artisan chocolate truffles, caramels, handmade fudge and a large assortment of Jelly Belly jelly beans is just a small taste of what they offer. Did I mention how amazing the ice cream is?
Over The Top is in Pleasant Hill, IA just about a 10 minute drive from Downtown Des Moines, and just off the Hwy 65 bypass.
